Birmingham shooting leaves one dead and one injured, investigation is ongoing
BIRMINGHAM – Detectives for the Birmingham Police Department are performing an investigation of homicide that occurred Wednesday.
The victim has been identified as Briana Young, 26-year-old black female, of Brighton, Alabama.
At around 2:20 a.m. responding officers arrived at Princeton Hospital in reference to a report of a person shot. The officers discovered two victims that had received gunshot wounds and were transported, by personally owned vehicle, for treatment. Shortly after the officers had arrived they were informed that one of the victims had died.
A second male victim is still receiving treatment, his injuries are life-threatening.
The shooting occurred at 10th Place Pratt and Avenue U. No suspects are in custody.
