Hayden Neugent shines in Huskies softball game against Mountain Brook

MOUNTAIN BROOK — Hayden Neugent was on fire for the Hewitt-Trussville Huskies Varsity softball team in Thursday’s 17-0 victory against Mountain Brook.

Neugent allowed zero runs and only one hit over the course of four innings. Neugent struck out eight and walked one.

The Huskies got the offense moving early in the game when Hanna Borden doubled on a 0-2 count in the first inning scoring one run.

The Huskies kept up the pressure in the second inning scoring six runs thanks to a walk by Abigail Dorsett, a single by Anyce Harvey and a homer by Borden.

Mountain Brook’s Sarah Huddle had the mound for one and one-thirds innings giving up five hits and seven runs.

Hewitt-Trussville had 15 hits and 17 runs in the game. Borden, Kenleigh Cahalan, Kailey Walters and Molly Cobb all produced multiple hits for the Huskies. The Huskies had zero errors in the game.
