Blount County crash results in charges of DUI assault and reckless murder for motorist

BLOUNT COUNTY – Charges of reckless murder and first-degree DUI assault have been made against Blount County man Johnny Lee Hobson, according to WBRC.
On September 18 a two-vehicle crash occurred on Alabama Highway 79, approximately seven miles south of Locust Fork, when Hobson was involved in a head-on collision with a truck. The driver of the truck, Rodger Dale Ledlow was killed in the crash. A passenger in Ledlow’s truck had to be taken to the Huntsville Hospital while Hobson was transported to St. Vincent’s East in Birmingham.
Alabama State Troopers are continuing to investigate the incident.
