Trussville volunteers accepting supplies for animal victims of Hurricane Florence
TRUSSVILLE — Natural disasters are events that can never be fully prepared for, and hurricanes are no exception to that rule. They are fluid situations and no matter how much planning is committed to many important things will be overlooked. Often times what gets over looked in these situations are the pets. Thankfully the Cahaba Dog Park, Trussville Dog Parks Auxiliary and Greater Birmingham Humane Society are ready to help.
On Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., representatives of those organizations will be standing by at the Cahaba Dog Park, located at 531 Cherokee Drive in Trussville, ready to receive supplies that will be used to assist the animal victims of Hurricane Florence.
The most needed supplies are:
- Dog/cat/kitten food (canned)
- Cat litter
- Cleaning supplies; dawn detergent, bleach, laundry detergent, etc.
- New leashes
- New collars
- New pet beds
- Tarps
- Large rubber containers
Volunteers will be grateful for any assistance the public can give.
