Trussville Rotary Club visits Smile-A-Mile, prepare lunch for young cancer survivors
The Trussville Rotary Daybreak Club started this lunch event as an annual service project 14 years ago.
On August 11, members of the Trussville Rotary Daybreak Club, along with family and friends, traveled to the Smile-A-Mile (SAM) campsite facility at Children’s Harbor to prepare lunch for approximately 19 young cancer survivors and the SAM staff. The facility is located on beautiful Lake Martin in Alexander City.
Smile-A-Mile (formerly Camp Smile-A-Mile) is a nonprofit organization in Alabama for children who have or have had cancer. The Trussville Rotary Daybreak Club started this lunch event as an annual service project about 14 years ago. For more information on the organization, visit smileamile.com.
