The surge of new businesses in downtown Trussville continues with the opening of a new boutique for babies and children on Friday.

Trussville native Rebecca Byars Brown is planning to open ‘Rebecca Brown’s: A Baby & Children’s Boutique,’ at 1 Office Park. Across the street from the new Edgar’s Bakery, the boutique will be to the right and behind Borella Auto Repair.

The space is approximately 800 square feet and has been recently renovated in anticipation of the store opening.

“Downtown Trussville is experiencing an exciting revitalization, and I hope my store fills a necessary void in my hometown,” Brown said. “It’s been great to share with friends and family my plans to open a baby and children’s store in the area, and I can’t wait to see how the community supports not only my store but other new businesses opening in the area.”

Brown said the boutique will carry a number of brands of baby and children’s clothing including Vive Le Fete, Copper Pearl, Angle Dear, Sweet Dreams, Anavini, Petit Ami, The Bailey Boys, Prodoh, Squiggles, Honey Bee Tees, and more.

A  ribbon cutting is set for Friday at 10:30 a.m., with a grand opening planned for Saturday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Store hours will be Tuesday through Friday 10 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.

The grand opening event will include a drawing for a $100 gift card, as well as refreshments. You can visit the shop’s Facebook page here.
