Trussville Urban Air Adventure Park slated for August opening
The facility will include trampolines, zip lines, an arcade, and more.
Parents looking for a fun distraction for their children might find a new favorite place with Urban Air Adventure Park, which is scheduled to open in Trussville in August.
The opening is tentatively set for August 11, but that may change as owners Marco Turner and Steve Horton make their final preparations for the park, which will be located at 3695 Roosevelt Boulevard — formerly the home of HH Gregg.
Urban Air is a Texas-based indoor trampoline franchise that has branched out all over the nation, including a location in Homewood and even overseas, Turner said.
The Trussville location will be part of the franchise’s latest iteration, the Urban Air Adventure Park 2.0. This means that in addition to trampolines there will be other features and attractions.
“We’ll have a ropes course where children or the participants are hooked up into a harness and can walk above 15 feet above ground,” Turner said, “and we’re going to have a climbing wall, and we’re going to have what we call the Wipeout. We’re going to have the high performance trampoline. The newest attraction is the Sky Coaster, which is similar to an indoor zip line.”
Others include the Apex Trampolines, an arcade, Runway (Tumble Track), Slam Dunk Zone, Dodgeball, DropZone, Battle Beam, ProZone Performance Trampolines, Tubes Playground, Warrior Obstacle Course, and a café with pizza, chicken wings, chicken fingers and other items.
“My partner and I were looking for something in the entertainment and family segment to bring to Trussville,” Turner said. “We did a lot of research with other franchises online and had different conversations. We were really drawn to Urban Air because of the direction they were going, as far as not being just a trampoline park but also a family fun center.”
