Jefferson County Journal is a new media outlet from the publisher of the Trussville Tribune that serves as a news hub for all of Jefferson County. With a focus on local politics, news, and culture, JCJ features a mix of original, in-depth reporting and aggregated content from other local news sources.
JCJ’s original content includes coverage of local politics, interviews with local and touring artists, and detailed feature stories about the issues featuring individual cities and the county as a whole. Examples include our interviews with District Attorney Candidates Mike Anderton and Bill Veitch and our robust music section that highlights upcoming local concerts by interviewing the musicians involved.
This content is supplemented with reporting from other sources, which JCJ links back to in an effort to celebrate and promote other local news outlets. This not only positions JCJ as a one-stop news hub and a curator of the county’s best reporting, but shows how these stories overlap and interact, painting a full picture of the county as a whole — not just as a collection of separate, disconnected municipalities.
