MARGARET — Margaret Elementary School participated in a canned food drive which brought in 1,922 items for the Argo Food Bank, during the month of November. Mrs. Tina Palmer’s Kindergarten Class has the most items raised with a total of 312 canned food items.
“I think the food drive was a great way to teach giving to others.” Said Palmer. “It not only helped those in need in our community, but taught my students a valuable lesson. I want to thank the students for all the food they brought in and the parents for supplying the food.”
Hunter Jernigan, in Palmer’s class brought in the most items with a total of 290. Jim Link and Judy Graham of the Argo Food Bank gave Palmer’s class a pizza party and let Hunter pick out a book to be donated in his honor to Margaret Elementary’s library. Mrs. Patty Beal, the school counselor, sponsored the food drive.
