Shootout at the East Birmingham auto shop, two injured

BIRMINGHAM — A Wednesday shootout at an east Birmingham body shot has resulted in the injury of two men, according to Carol Robinson of Al.com
At approximately 1 p.m. two men suffered wounds after a gunfight broke out inside R.C.’s Collision Paint and Body in the 5800 block of First Avenue North.
Sgt. James Cliett advised that the injuries do not appear to be life threatening. Both victims were transported to the UAB Hospital for treatment.
Police have indicated that the fire fight was the result of a dispute inside the body shop.
Detectives are still working on the case. Once the victims have been released from the hospital they will be detained and questioned by the police.
