21-year-old victim of Birmingham shooting dies from wounds
BIRMINGHAM — A shooting in southwest Birmingham, early Saturday morning, has left a 21-year-old man dead and another man injured, according to a report from Carol Robinson of Al.com.
At approximately 12:30 a.m. both victims arrived at UAB hospital with gunshot wounds, as reported by Birmingham police Sgt. Bryan Shelton.
Marquee Green, one of the victims, had taken a shot to the back. He was pronounced dead a short time after he arrived at the hospital. The other victim was hit in the arm. It is expected that he will recover.
Shelton advised that early findings have indicated that the two men were sitting in a vehicle, in the 2400 block of Steiner Court S.W., and they were fired upon by individuals in a second vehicle. Shelton also advised that it appears that the victims were being targeted specifically and that the action was not random.
Authorities have yet to develop a motive or suspect(s) for the shooting.
