Suspect charged in weekend homicide of 29-year-old Birmingham man
An arrest was made after a man was killed in the Titusville community.
The Birmingham Police Department reports that a suspect has been charged in the slaying of a 29-year-old Birmingham man on Sunday.
Deonte Anton Porch, 28, was identified as the suspect in the killing of Deangelo Lumpkin, 29. On Sunday July 22, officers from the south precinct responded to a report of a person shot at #40 5th Court South where they discovered Lumpkin with a gunshot wound to the chest.
He was taken to UAB Hospital but was later pronounced dead.
On Wednesday, July 25, the Birmingham Police Crime Reduction Team took Porch into custody. He was taken to the Jefferson County Jail where he remains on a $125,000 bond.
Even though an arrest was made, police continue to investigate the case.
