The Vestavia Hills City Council has completed its first day of interviews to fill the seat of outgoing Board of Education President Nancy Corona, the Vestavia Voice reports.

Four of the six applicants — Charles Mason, Chris Brown, Tealla Stewart, and Jennifer Weaver — were interviewed on Thursday morning, with the remaining two interviews — Colin Coyne and Michael S. Guthrie — scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 17.

Mason had previously served as the interim superintendent of Vestavia Hills’ school system from August 2017 through February 2018. Stewart, meanwhile, is a former member of the Vestavia Hills school board. Corona will leave the board at the end of May.
