Seven arrested in Center Point on marijuana, loitering, and gun charges

Seven men were arrested and charged on Monday, July 9, with offenses related to marijuana, loitering, and guns at an apartment complex in Center Point, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

At around 3 p.m. on Monday afternoon, deputies from the sheriff’s office were called to the 1900 block of East Bend Circle, where they investigated drug activity. According to the sheriff’s office, the call was made after several men were seen smoking marijuana and displaying guns near a dark-colored Chevrolet Impala.

Officers found a bag of marijuana under the car, after one of the men was seen hiding something there. One of the men had a handgun in their waistband.

“A search of the car was conducted,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement. “A rifle and three more handguns were found as well as a grocery bag filled with marijuana. All of the men were identified and arrested for various charges.”

The men who were arrested were:

• Roderick Dawon Lewis, 22, of Montgomery was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and carrying a pistol without a license.
• Nijal Devine Hill, 22, of Center Point was charged with loitering for drug activity.
• David Mitchell, 22, of Center Point was charged with carrying a pistol without a license.
• Deadrian Treyvorest Martin, 22, of Montgomery was charged with loitering for drug activity.
• Tariq James Stinson-Fenil, 18, was charged with loitering for drug activity.
• Waki Tavares Bishop, 18, of Center Point was charged with loitering for drug activity.
• Rodrequis Juawon Managan, 19, of Montgomery was charged with loitering for drug activity.
