Second suspect of West Jefferson County bank robbery in custody
Police located the second suspect and the getaway car used in the robbery Wednesday morning.
The driver of a car believed to be used in a robbery in Graysville on Wednesday morning has been taken into custody by police.
The arrest was made after 2 p.m. Wednesday at the 300 block of Sixth Avenue in Mulga where deputies from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office found the suspect in an attic. Money that was taken from the robbery was found, according to the sheriff’s office.
The getaway car was also located. It was described as a gold Lexus sedan that police say was being driven from the building after the robbery took place.
He is being questioned by detectives before he is taken to the Jefferson County Jail to await formal charges. His name is being withheld pending charges.
Hoover Police confirmed that he and the suspect arrested earlier were the same who robbed a BB&T Bank on June 7 and on Wednesday morning at the same bank. Federal arrest warrants will be obtained against them in the next 48 hours.
