Hoover police seek suspects in armed robberies
Two incidents happened within 10 minutes of each other Monday night.
The Hoover Police Department is investigating a pair of armed robberies that appear to be related, according to a press release.
Both incidents happened in a span of 10 minutes Monday night. First, a resident of the Park at Galleria Apartments reported that two black males threatened him with a handgun at 8:52 p.m. as he was unlocking the door to his apartment, robbing him of his cell phone, wallet, and car keys.
Six minutes later, a woman was held at gunpoint in the parking lot of Burlington Coat Factory (1615 Montgomery Highway) as she was backing out of a parking space. A black male with an handgun pulled open her driver’s door and ordered her out of the vehicle; another suspect entered the passenger’s side. Both suspects drove away in the victim’s vehicle — a 2015 gray Nissan ALtima with Tennessee tag 7C75U1. Another car that had been reported stolen to Birmingham police two days ago was found in that parking lot, as was personal property belonging to the first victim.
Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Brad Fountain at 205-444-7562 — or, if you wish to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers of Metro Alabama at 205-254-7777.
