From The Jefferson County Journal staff reports

CLAY — Three young men from Clay-Chalkville High School have signed up to continue their careers as student-athletes at the next level.

Khalil Bel, who is a second baseman and designated hitter, signed with Bishop State Community College in Mobile.

Tristan Walton, who is a left-handed pitcher and first baseman, signed with Lawson State Community College.

Ashton Kincaid, who is a short-stop and pitcher, signed with LaGrange College.

“These guys were really excited to see the payoff of their hard work and dedication,” said Clay-Chalkville Baseball Coach Chris Tinsley. “They all were smiling ear to ear and knowing they had their teammates there to celebrate with them, it made it even more special.

“This day is always really rewarding to me. It’s a good feeling knowing that these guys achieved one of the goals in their lives. These guys have worked really hard and have put in a lot of hours outside of practice to achieve this goal. We always want the best for our guys and knowing that when they (everyone) leave our program, they are better men that turn into good husbands that turn into good fathers.”
