Birmingham man drops kids off at an apartment, gets shot, dies several hours later

BIRMINGHAM – Just after 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, in the 200 block of 9th Court North, Kerry McClure was shot. After police arrived on the scene he was transported to UAB where he succumbed to his injuries around 1 a.m. on Monday, according to Carol Robinson of Al.com.
Authorities have advised that, through the preliminary investigation, it has been discovered that McClure was at the Smithfield apartments to drop off his children. McClure and a suspect then got into an argument. The suspect entered his vehicle and while he was driving off he fired several shots at McClure. One of the shots hit McClure.
Police have not yet arrested the suspect, but they are aware of his identity.
