Auburn University student accused of breaking nose, arm of female Lyft driver

AUBURN — Jess Erwin Ralston, a 20-year-old Auburn University student, has been accused of launching a viscous attack on a Lyft driver, according to WIAT.
According to driver Lennie Hartzon the passenger, Ralston, seemed mad as she was transporting him on Sunday. Once arrived at the destination Ralston refused to exit her vehicle and commented about a desire to kill someone. Hartzog notified 9-1-1 and was advised to open the door to see if Ralston would leave.
Hartzog said, “I opened the door [and] he had his left arm cocked, and he hit me in the face. I had a momentary flash it could all end tonight, but I’m pretty tough.”
Authorities have charged Ralston with third degree assault. Harzog is hopeful that the charges will be upgraded to a felony. The attack left her with a broken nose, broken arm and scrapes on her hand.
