Police maintain watch at Fairfield High School after social media threat
FAIRFIELD – On Tuesday morning the Fairfield Police and Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies were called in to assess a threat made, over social media, against a coach and students of Fairfield High School, as reported by WVTM 13.
According to authorities an adult male has been identified as the suspect, and police are looking for him.
After learning of the threat principal Dr. Regina Thompson placed the school on high alert and notified incoming parents via a note posted at the school’s entrance.
Law enforcement was on campus viewing the school entrance, while a number of parents elected to take pick up their children. Authorities have advised that the area is secure.
