Birmingham man hit, killed while riding bicycle
The accident happened at approximately 8:15 p.m. on Monday.
A Birmingham man was killed Monday evening after he was struck by a car while riding his bicycle, AL.com reports.
The accident happened at 8:15 p.m. on Jefferson Avenue near 26th Street in southwest Birmingham. The victim, 61-year-old Douglas McKinnon, was taken to UAB Hospital and pronounced dead at 8:56 p.m.
The driver of the vehicle stayed on the scene and is cooperating with police.
