Lipscomb Police Chief placed on leave following drug charges
The mayor of Lipscomb made a brief statement regarding the police chief, who was arrested on Friday.
Lipscomb Police Chief Brian Scott Martin has been placed on leave, said Mayor Brenda Renz. This comes after Martin was arrested on Friday on drug charges.
“Police Chief Brian Scott Martin has been placed on leave pending investigation,” Renz said. “The city of Lipscomb, as well as myself, will make a statement upon completion of our investigation.”
On Friday, July 27, Martin, an Odenville resident, was arrested by Odenville Police and booked into the St. Clair County Jail in Pell City at 12:30 p.m. He was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of marijuana in the second degree.
He was released after posting a $1,500 bond.
