Police release name of woman found beaten to death in Pinson home

“Deputies arrived to find the victim dead on the floor,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.

The victim of what authorities believe to be a beating death that took place on Sunday morning has been identified. The victim’s husband was taken into custody by deputies from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim was identified as 48-year-old Robin Rae Caudill. After 5 a.m. on Sunday morning, deputies were called to the 4000 block of Ruff Road where a man had reported that his wife had been found unresponsive on the bathroom floor.

“Deputies arrived to find the victim dead on the floor,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement. “The husband of the victim remained on scene and was found to have blood on his clothing. He was questioned by detectives but offered no explanation for the injuries to the victim or the blood found throughout the home.”

Investigators believe that the victim was beaten to death based on information at the scene.

The man, whose name has not been released pending formal charges, was taken to the Jefferson County Jail.
