Deputies search for driver who left scene of Center Point hit-and-run

Deputies from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office are investigating an overnight hit-and-run that occurred at Carson Road and 16th Terrace Circle Northwest. An adult male was hit and killed before the driver left the scene.

Deputies were dispatched to the location at around 10:30 p.m. on Thursday night, where they discovered the victim suffering from critical injuries. The victim was taken to area hospital but was later pronounced dead. He was not carrying identification.

The Sheriff’s Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating the incident.
