Irondale police seek identities of burglars that shot into car dealership
Suspects attempted to burglarize two businesses in Irondale by shooting their way in.
Two burglars broke into a Maserati dealership on Grants Mill Road by shooting their way inside before taking a car and wrecking it, reports the Irondale Police Department. Now the police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspects based on surveillance photographs taken at the scene.
According to Detective Michael Mangina from the Irondale Police Department, the incident took place on July 12 at 3:30 a.m. Two suspects shot the windows of the building and caused damage inside an office as they made their way in. A nearby car was struck by a bullet. They stole a car out of the service department and wrecked it in the parking lot.
Mangina said that they attempted to take other cars but could not. They then went to a gas station and shot the glass before one entered while the other stood guard outside, he said. One of the suspects tried to shoot the glass to an office inside. The glass was too thick and so the suspects left.
Few details of the physical description of the suspects are available. The suspects are black males, with one being of light skin color and the other of darker complexion. The vehicle they were using is only known as being a dark-colored four-door.
