Authorities investigate human skeletal remains found in west Jefferson County
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has not yet determined any details about the remains.
The City of Adamsville announced Wednesday that human skeletal remains have been found by a utility crew off Minor Parkway, prompting an investigation by authorities. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office is working to make an identification.
According to AL.com’s Carol Robinson, the discovery was made in a wooded area on Tuesday between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. as Birmingham Water Works employees were checking for a leaking pipe. The remains were found around 75 to 100 feet from the roadway.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has not yet determined any details about the remains. The cause of death has not been determined. Authorities are investigating and checking records for missing persons inside and outside the county.
