Birmingham police investigate homicide of woman shot after argument
A suspect was taken into custody after a woman was shot following a domestic argument.
Police are investigating the homicide of a woman that took place in Birmingham on Monday evening.
Tiffany Cooper, 35, was identified as the victim after officers from the West Precinct were dispatched to 16th Place Southwest at 6:15 p.m. When they arrived at the scene they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. She was later pronounced dead at the scene.
“Officers received information that the victim was involved in a domestic argument with her mother just before she was shot,” said BPD Sgt. Johnny Williams in a statement. “The suspect has been taken into custody. Suspect information will be released pending the outcome of the investigation.”
