Following the recovery of Alabama Splash Adventure
A new article traces the path of the park once known as VisionLand.
A new feature from BirminghamWatch traces the recovery of Alabama Splash Adventure, the Bessemer-based theme park originally known as VisionLand.
The park has a troubled history. Originally a project of then-Fairfield Mayor Larry Langford, the park opened in 1998. It declared bankruptcy in 2002, and has been through a string of different owners until its current owner, Dan Koch, purchased the park in 2014.
The BirminghamWatch feature follows the park’s operations manager, Pat Koch, as she explains her family’s approach to restoring the beleaguered park.
