Hoover High School principal announces retirement
Don Hulin will step down in December, but a new principal will be in place by July 1.
Hoover High School principal Don Hulin announced Thursday that he will retire in December after 10 years on the job, the Hoover Sun reports.
Hoover City Schools Superintendent Kathy Murphy said she plans to have a new principal in place by July 1, with the search process slated to begin “immediately.”
“I do not want to wait until December to replace [Hulin],” she said.
Hulin has been the school’s longest-serving principal. Prior to being hired at Hoover High School, he served as principal at Marbury High School from 2003 to 2008.
On Twitter Friday morning, Hulin remarked that his principalship had been “a heck of a ride.”
