The conference will take place from May 23-26, and will have an estimated economic impact of $785,000 on the city. It will feature more than 60 workshops on how neighborhoods — both in Birmingham and around the country — deal with issues such as crime, housing costs, community mental health resources, and more. Birmingham’s Woodlawn neighborhood is also one of four finalists for the conference’s annual “best neighborhood revitalization” award.
