Homewood City Council eyes new sidewalks, speed humps
The city moves forward with several infrastructure initiatives.
Members of the Homewood City Council have decided to proceed with sidewalk projects at Patriot Park and Saulter Road, the Homewood Star reports. The council is also looking at whether to replace a series of speed humps on Berry Road.
Members of the city’s finance committee examined plans for a connecting path between Hillmoor Lane and Patriot Park, which Ward 2 representative said would cost roughly $8,700.
The council’s planning and development committee, meanwhile, approved construction of a sidewalk on Saulter Road.
Members of the council’s public safety committee are examining whether to replace speed humps that were removed from Berry Road during a repaving project. Several councilors, as well as Police Chief Tim Ross, suggested that a reduction in the number of speed humps would be preferable. The discussion regarding these speed humps will continue at the council’s next meeting.
