South Hampton K-8 School closes due to water main break
Students unable to be picked up will be taken to Wylam K-8 for rest of day.
Students are being sent home early from Birmingham’s South Hampton K-8 School after a water main break, according to a press release from the Birmingham Board of Education.
Parents are being contacted to come pick up their students from school; if they are unable to do so, the students will be sent to Wylam K-8 for the rest of the school day and will be taken home by bus this afternoon.
Officials have not yet announced when the school will reopen.
Update: Birmingham City Schools have announced that the water main break has been repaired and that the school will reopen tomorrow.
The water main break at South Hampton K-8 School has been repaired. The school will re-open tomorrow, Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at its regularly scheduled time.
