Jefferson County District Attorney Mike Anderton congratulates DA-elect Danny Carr on his win
From the Jefferson County Journal staff reports
BIRMINGHAM – Jefferson County District Attorney Mike Anderton has released a statement congratulating his Chief Deputy as the newly elected District Attorney.
“I want to thank all of my supporters and volunteers for helping with this election.” Said Anderton. “It has been an honor to serve the citizens of Jefferson County as your District Attorney for the last year. I want to congratulate District Attorney-elect Danny Carr in winning this historic election. I have been trying to get in touch with Danny, but we have not made contact with each other as of yet. Danny’s experience in the DA’s Office should bode well for Jefferson County. That was the reason I chose Danny to be the chief deputy when I was appointed.”
“I look forward to working with Danny in the office continuing to protect victims, prosecute violent criminals that plague our county and attend parole hearings.” Said Anderton. “I know we will have a smooth transition and we will continue to make Jefferson County a safer place for us all.”
Anderton was appointed Jefferson County District Attorney by Governor Kay Ivey in 2017 when the post became vacant. He has been working in the Birmingham DA’s office since 1984.
