Center Point man arrested for the robbery of an 85-year-old

JEFFERSON COUNTY – A 49-year-old Center Point man has been arrested and charged with the September 4, robbery of an 85-year-old man.
On Tuesday, deputies were called to the 1600 block of 1st Street NE to investigate a report of a robbery. The 85-year-old male victim reported that, as he was getting into his car, he was approached by a man who demanded his wallet. The suspect took the wallet by force and pushed the victim to the ground. The victim was not seriously injured. The suspect fled on foot.
Deputies checked surveillance cameras from nearby businesses and identified 49-year-old Dexter Keith Brock as the suspect.
On Wednesday, Sheriff’s detectives found Brock at his apartment and questioned him about the robbery. Brock admitted to robbing the victim and taking his wallet. He was arrested and charged with robbery third degree.
