Birmingham Police request assistance in identifying suspect in a car theft
BIRMINGHAM – The Birmingham Police Department is reporting that detectives are investigating a robbery that occurred on Tuesday. Investigators are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect captured by surveillance video.
On Tuesday responding officers took a report from a victim. The victim advised that shortly after returning home her car was stolen from her. The suspect later crashed the vehicle into a gas pump in the 1500 block of Tuscaloosa Avenue. The suspect proceeded to remove the front bumper from the vehicle before entering the store to make a purchase. The suspect abandoned the vehicle at the gas station.
The suspect is a black male. At the time of the incident he was wearing a white t-shirt and dark shorts with a large white stripe around the leg.
