Bystander sustains life-threatening injuries in a Birmingham shootout
BIRMIGHAM – A bystander sustained life-threatening injuries during a shooting on Thursday afternoon in Inglenook, as reported by WBRC 6.
According to authorities the shooting occurred around 2 p.m. in the 4200 block of Greenwood Street. The incident was instigated by an altercation between two people. The situation escalated and one party produced a gun, began shooting at the other and, in the process, struck the victim.
The shooter is in custody. No identities have been released.
