Starting this month, Jefferson County libraries are making it much easier to renew books, CDs, and DVDs.

The Jefferson County Library Cooperative has announced that any non-digital item checked out from one of its libraries will be automatically renewed at the end of its lending period.

There are exceptions, according to the JCLC website. Items will not automatically renew if:

  • Another patron places a reserve on that item
  • The item has reached its maximum number of renewals (2 for most items)
  • Your account has accrued $5.01 or more in fines
  • The item is not renewable
  • Your account activity has been blocked
  • The item is an eBook

Items can still be renewed manually on the Jefferson County Library Cooperative website.
