Victim in Center Point hit-and-run identified
No arrests have yet been made in the case.
The victim of a hit-and-run incident that took place last week in Center Point has been identified.
Johnathan Oneal, 22, of Birmingham, was identified as the victim of the hit-and-run, which occurred Thursday, July 19, at Carson Road and 16th Terrace Circle Northwest.
Deputies from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office discovered Oneal at around 10:30 p.m. that night before he was taken to an area hospital but was pronounced dead. The driver is believed to have left the scene where the fatality occurred.
Oneal had not been carrying identification with him at the time, delaying the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office in making an identification. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office have not announced any arrests in the case.
