St. Paul and the Broken Bones announce new album, Young Sick Camellia

The Birmingham-based soul group have also shared the first single from the record, which is due out in September.

Birmingham-based soul band St. Paul and the Broken Bones have announced that their new album, Young Sick Camellia, will be released on September 7. They’ve also shared the lead single from the album, “Apollo,” which you can hear below.

Young Sick Camellia will be the band’s third full-length record, following 2014’s Half the City and 2016’s Sea of Noise. The album was revealed through a series of cryptic Instagram posts, which gradually revealed the album cover and the names of its 13 tracks (you can see both the album cover and tracklist below). The band also announced a fall tour through September and October. That tour doesn’t include any Alabama dates, but the band will perform at Birmingham’s Sloss Music and Arts Festival on July 15.

Pre-orders for the album are on the band’s website, and include an option for a record pressed with pieces of frontman Paul Janeway’s gold suit.

St. Paul and the Broken Bones consists of vocalist Paul Janeway, bassist Jesse Phillips, keyboardist Al Gamble, drummer Andrew Lee, guitarist Browan Lollar, trumpeter Allen Bransetter, trombonist Chad Fisher and saxophonist Jeronne Ansari.
