Man in Jefferson County Jail after rear ending school bus unloading children

An Enterprise man is in the Jefferson County Jail after rear ending a school bus on Thursday.
Sheriff’s Deputies received a call at 3:28 p.m. informing them that a vehicle had struck a school bus at the intersection of Tate Mill Road and Warrior Jasper Road, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, law enforcement responded to the scene and determined that the accident happened when a motorist failed to yield to a stopped school bus, and rear ended the bus.
The bus driver stated that he was completely stopped with his warning lights activated. Children were beginning to exit the bus at their stop, when the motorist in the other vehicle, Kendall Cork, did not attempt to stop at all and collided with the bus, reported the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
Kendall Cork was found to have an outstanding felony warrant with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
There were no injuries to any student passenger. Another bus was brought to location to continue on with the bus route.
Kendall Cork was transported to the Birmingham County Jail. He was booked in on the outstanding FTA warrant, driving while license revoked, passing/overtaking an unloading School bus, and failure to provide insurance, according to the Jefferson County Sheriffs Office.
