Birmingham Police are investigating a homicide of a man run over with a vehicle

BIRMINGHAM — The Birmingham Police Department is reporting that detectives are conducting a homicide investigation into an event happened on Thursday, August 16 at 2651 Green Springs Highway.

A press release has identified the victim as Miguel Mundujano Garcia, a 22-year-old Hispanic male, of Birmingham Alabama.

At around 4:15 a.m., south precinct officers responded to a reported assault.  When officers arrived on scene they found the victim lying in the parking lot.  They discovered that Garcia had been struck by a vehicle after a verbal altercation with the driver of a black SUV.

Garcia was transported to UAB hospital, but later succored to his injuries.
