Don’t be alarmed, Jefferson County EMA to test new alarm system

JEFFERSON COUNTY – According to the Jefferson County Emergency Management Agency the new Polygon-activated siren system will be tested August 28, 29 and 30, between 9am & 11am each day.  This testing is necessary to ensure proper operation of the new system.  If all goes according to plan, this new system will be fully online Friday August 31st.

​The Jefferson County Emergency Management Agency asks that citizens not be alarmed if they hear the sirens multiple times during the testing phases.  They also request that citizens, if they hear the sirens, let them know by sending a message on social media to @EMAJessCoAl. This message should include location.
