Birmingham library board trustees throw support behind executive director
Floyd Council has been criticized by employees, but trustees say he has gone “above and beyond.”
Birmingham Public Library executive director Floyd Council may be facing criticism from the library system’s employees, but board members say he has their support, BirminghamWatch reports.
During the board of trustees’ meeting Tuesday evening, board members described him has having gone “above and beyond” in his duties. “He lost his mother recently and yet he’s been here through it all,” said board member Kimberly Richardson. “He has our support.”
But the board did listen to other comments from library employees, including safety concerns and issues with communication. You can read a full recap of the meeting at BirminghamWatch.
